“En pocas palabras, quiero mejorar mis habilidades actorales. Ya que este drama es mi debut actoral, todo fue bastante duro para mí. Inicialemtne, estaba bastante rígido en mis expresiones faciales y en mis movimientos..”
Changmin dijo estas palabras con una sonrisa extremadamente brillante. Changmin, quien solamente tiene 22 años, es un miembro del popular grupo DBSK, quien ha recibido un sinnúmero de premios en su carrera musical. Recientemente Changmin ha estado en Corea enfocandose en su drama debut, una comedia romántica llamada "Paradise Ranch". Esta vez, debido a la sesión de fotos de ELLEgirl, Changmin finalmente es capaz de regresar a Japón despues de un largo periodo de ausencia. En el drama, Changmin interpreta el rol de un joven y complejo chico quien, despues de haberse encontrado con su ex-esposa, aprende a vivir la vida junto a ella de nuevo.
"Por que nunca he estado casado antes [entonces fue bastante difícil entrar en el rol] (sonrie). sin embargo, el sentimiento de tener que aceptar a alguien de un ambiente diferente, tiene una resonancia similar con mi propia experiencia de vida. Primero intentaré aceptar las diferencias entre ambos. Para encontrarse con alguien que cumpla con nuestros ideales perfectamente desde el comienzo, es una cosa imposible en la vida en general, no solo en el area del amor. Podrias decir entonces que no creo en el amor a primera vista? Por supuesto, el amor a primera vista ocurre. "Mi nivel en el lenguaje japones necesita mejorar [antes que pueda actuar en tv dramas japoneses] (sonríe). He estado cantando para todos antes, y por supuesto, quiero continuar cantando. Pero no he decidido en mi estilo y el tipo de género para cantar. Espero que mis fans y los que me apoyen esperen pacientemente por ello."
Con una estatura de 186cm, para aparecer en una película de Hollywood no debe ser un problema, y ser activo en la escena del entretenimiento internacional no será solo un sueño. "Cuando era escolar, quería seguir mis estudios en el extranjero, asi que estudiaría realmente duro en mi lenguaje de ingles, y en ese momento, mi ingles era bastante fluido, pero he olvidado bastante de lo básico ahora. R: Es mejor aún tener tus propios arreglos. soy del tipo que planearía los detalles de la cita de antemano. La mayoría de personas usualmente elegiría ser espontaneos en sus citas, pero no me siento cómodo con este tipo de citas. DBSK’s Shim Changmin’s Hopes For Future Works
“In short, I want to improve in my acting skills. As this drama is my acting debut, so everything was quite hard for me. Initially, I was quite stiff in both my facial expressions and in my movements.”
Changmin spoke these words with an extremely bright smile. Changmin, who is only 22 years old this year, is a member of the popular vocal group DBSK, who has received countless awards in their music career. Recently, Changmin has been in Korea focusing on his debut drama, a romance comedy called “Paradise Ranch”. This time, due to ELLEgirl’s photo shoot, Changmin is finally able to return to Japan after a long period of absence. In the drama, Changmin plays the young and complex role of a guy who, after having met his ex-spouse, learns to live life together with her again.
“Because I’ve never been married before [so it was pretty hard to get into the role] (smiles). However, the feeling of having to accept someone from a different background, does have a similar resonance with my own life experience. I will firstly try to accept the differences between the both of us. To meet someone who meets our ideals perfectly from the start, is an impossible thing in life generally, not only in the area of love. Could you say then that I don’t believe in love at first sight? Of course, love at first sight do occur. However, the foremost condition is to be able to first accept each other’s differences (smiles).”
Having said all these, a mischievous smile flashed across Changmin’s face. If only we can see this same smile in Japan’s TV dramas.
“My standard in the Japan language need to be better [before I can act in Japan’s TV dramas] (smiles). I’ve been singing for everyone before, and of course, I want to continue singing. But I have not decided on the style and the type of genre to sing. I hope my fans and supporters will wait patiently for it.”
Standing at a height of 186cm, to be featured in a Hollywood movie should not be a problem, and to be active in the international entertainment scene will no longer be just a dream. “When I was schooling, I wanted to further my studies overseas, so I would study really hard in my English language, and at that time, my English was pretty fluent, but I have forgotten most of my basics now. I am planning to continue my studies once the shooting for this drama ends. I really admire artistes like Takeshi Kaneshiro, who can not only speak fluently in many languages, but is also very active in other countries’ entertainment scenes. “Yesterday was a rare day off, so I wrote about the details of the drama shoot in the diary. I wrote till, ‘Has the progress of the drama shoot been smooth?’ ‘It’s good, don’t worry’ (laughs). There are two purposes in keeping a diary [for me]. Firstly, you can recall all your past years’ memories when you read your diary. While looking back on your past, you might even realize that what used to hurt you and cause you pain is of no significance now. In this way, you can also gauge how much you have grown.”
The second purpose is really romantic! “One day, when I meet someone whom I want to marry, I will pass my diary for her to read. This is to show her how I was as a person before marriage, and the thoughts that I think every day. It is also to tell her that this is the Changmin who wants to marry her. I would like her to understand me as much as she can. Other than her, no one else will get to read my diary!”

A：It is still better to have your own arrangements. I am the type who would plan out the details of the date beforehand. Most people would usually chose to be spontaneous in their dates, but I am not comfortable with this type of dates. Even though it may be just one matter, I would still like to decide beforehand what to do.
Q：If you were to go for a spin, where would you want to go?
A：The places where I normally work at are usually very small and cramped, so I would like to go somewhere that is spacious; the beach is not bad idea. I’m very confident in my driving skills!
Q：Are you okay with your girlfriend wearing revealing clothes?
A：I’m okay if it’s with me. Having said that, I’m someone who will generally not interfere with such issues, so if she does go out in revealing clothes I won’t get mad. I’ll probably just get a little jealous.
Q：Comparing the clothes that you’ve worn for the shoot today, are there any pieces that are similar to your own personal clothes?
A：I think it should be MARIN. I like lacework, so I’m always wearing clothes with that. When it comes to my sense of dressing, I was only enlightened when I was 20 years old (laughs). I finally understood that “I must dress up properly!” so that was when I started to put on jackets also.

Reir, hablar, pensar.
El de 22 años quien esta brillando más ahora mismo.
El verdadero rostro de Changmin, su concienzudo corazón.
Va detras de los 22 años, cuyo cuerpo es bien proporcionado y galante expresión.
Al comienzo estaba coonfundido ya que era su primera sesión de fotos solo. Como el la cámara obtuvo los ecos, su movimiento y expresión se convirtio como si estuviera en el escenario.
Habian murmullos como "que guapo" que llenaron el estudio. Al oír estas palabras su expresión facial se perdió y lució tímido mientras sonrió. "No soy realmente una persona agresiva asi que raramente me abro a las personas que conozco por primera vez. Mientras más paso con alguien puedo naturalmente acercarme más. Eso va tambien con las chicas. Antes de acercarme a ellas inmediatamente le pregunto a las persona de mi alrededor 'Qué clase de persona es ella?' tengo que investigar y luego llego con un plan. No me llevaría por los comentario de otros? no, no juzgo a nadie solo por lo que alguien dice. Trataría de hablarle para ver si la información es correcta *ríe* De todos modos me acerco poco a poco."
Mientras habla su mirada lucía inestable y misteriosa. Puede ser la chispa momentánea de él al convertirse en in adulto.
"Las chicas que me gustaron en el pasdo siempre me dijeron 'No puedo saber lo que estas pensando'. trato de decirle a la chica que la amo asi que no se siente preocupada y le digo donde estoy, que estoy haciendo y con quien. Pero eso hace a una chica sentirse preocupada, ya que no hablo tanto como otras personas…? ah… las chicas son un misterio para mi."
Changmin es igual a cualquier otro chico de 22 años y es sensitivo hacia la moda. Durante la sesión de fotos él estaba diciendo "El color que me gusta ahora es el morado." "Me gusta este estilo (pg.136)" "Es un poco raro decirlo yo mismo pero soy alto asi que trato de escoger ropa que hagan que mi cuerpo luzca esbelto."
Mientras esta escogiendo su ropa, puedes ver aparte su personalidad.
"Cuando fui a francias, me probé una chaque sin miar el precio en su etiqueta y fue como ' esta es buena' y ví el precio y era muy caro que sentí que la expresión de mi rostro endurecerse. Estaba pensando en si debía comprarla y pregunté a los emplados de la tienda 'esto encaja conmigo?' y por supuesto dijeron 'claro! compralo!' *ríe* y por un momento esta pensando si debía comprarla y pense 'bien, la compraré!'. Pocas veces veo ropa que me gusta que la compraría de inmediato.
"La que me dejo el mayor recuerdo recientemente es la película 'Gran Torino'." El joven que no muestr sus expresión facilmente dice "inconsientemente lloré" parec como si sus palabras mostraran su verdadero corazón.

"Quiero encontrar la respuesta pero incluso paso el siempo pensando 'qué es la vida?' me haría crecer. Creo que a pesar que es una pregunta sin respuet, trataré de disfrutar pensando acerca de ello. Estos días realmente pienso positivamente. De regreso en los días en que incluso trataba de dar lo mejor de mí, sentía como si nunca fuera lo suficientemente bueno, y solía culparme a mí mismo pero ahora incluso si no puedo alcanzar al nivel que pense puedo pensar 'Ya es algo que esta hecho. La próxima vex tratré de no arrepentirme.' Trato de pensar positivo, como este poco a cpoco quiero acercarme más a mi ideal ' un hombre quien tiene calma en su corazón."
Quizas es su concienzudo corazón que lo hace brillar.

The 22 year old who is shining the most right now.
The true face of Changmin, his conscientious heart.
Going behind the 22 year old whose body well proportioned and gallant face expression.
In the beginning he was puzzled for it was his first solo photo shoot. As the camera’s shutter echos his movement and expression becomes as if he was on stage.
There was voices “so handsome” filled in the studio. As he heard these words his face expression loosened and looked shy as he smiled. “I’m not really an aggressive person so i rarely open up to people i meet for the first time. The more I spend time with someone the more I can naturally get close too. It goes the same for girls. Before approaching them immediately I ask people around me ‘what kind of person is she?’ I have to research and then i come up with a plan. Wouldn’t I be carried away? no,I won’t judge just because of what someone said. I’ll try talking to her to see if the information is right *laughs*. Anyway I approach little by little.”
As he talks his eyes looked fickle and mysterious. It may be the momentary sparkle of him as hes turning into an adult.
“The girls I liked in the past always told me ‘I can’t tell what your thinking about’. I try to tell the girl that I love her so that she doesn’t feel worried and I tell her where I am, what I’m doing, with who. But does it make a girl feel worried that I don’t talk as much as other people do…? ah.. girls are mysterious to me.”
Changmin is same as every other 22 year old and is sensitive towards fashion. During the photo shoot he was saying “The color I kind of like right now is purple.” “I like this style (pg.136)” ” It’s kind of weird to say it myself but I’m tall so I try to choose clothes that makes my body-line look slim.”
As he’s choosing his clothes you can see apart of his personality.
“When I went to France, I tried on a jacket without looking at the price tag and I was like ‘this is good’ and I looked at the price tag and it was so expensive that I felt my face expression harden. I was thinking if I should buy it and I asked the store clerk ‘does this match me?’ and of course they answered ‘it matches! buy it!’ *laughs* and for awhile I was thinking if I should buy it and I thought ‘okay, i’ll buy it!’. I rarely see clothes I like that i would buy right away.”
“The thing that left memory the most recently is the movie ‘Gran Torino’.” The guy who doesn’t show his expression easily said “unconsciously i teared up” it seems like his words showed his real heart.
“Its not something specific about the story or a scene but its what the character said and did. It made me think about life.”
Then what does life mean to you, Changmin? With a face expression that cannot be explained he wrote on the table ‘?’ with his finger. “I want to find the answer but even if i don’t the time thinking ‘what is life?’ would make me grow. I believe in that so even though its an question with no answer I try to enjoy thinking about it. These days I really think positive. Back in the days even though I tried my best I felt like it was never good enough. and I used to blame myself but now even if I cant reach the level I thought I can I think ‘ it’s already something that’s done. next time ill try to not regret.’ I try to think positive, like this little by little I want to get closer to my ideal ‘a man who has composure in his heart.’ “.
It maybe his conscientious heart that makes him shine.

"Las únicas veces que me visto tan formal es colo cuando voy al matrimonio de mis amigos" dice Changmin mientras ríe.
Cuando debutó en Japón él aún era un inocente chico de 17 años y ahora el ya tiene 22.
Es alto y delgado quien encaja con un formal traje negro.
2Me gustan los trajes como este que me hacenn lucir esbelto/delgado. Lo que veo para la moda es el estilo más que el color. Trato de escoger algo que es simple sin embargo con estilo."
En su vida privada dijo que obtuvo su licencia y ahora su hobby es salir a conducir su auto.
"Quiero salir a manejar en un cita alguna vez. Usualmente no puedo mostrar mis sentimientos pero dentro de un auto puedo relajarme asi que pienso que puedo espresarme a mí mismo mejor. Hay tanto lugares que quiero llevar a mi enamorada! Realmente quiero ir a un Parque de Diversione y divertirme! *ríe*
- Incluso tu eres el más joven de los meimbros, hay una imagen de tí donde estas calmado y fresco. Eres apasionados cuando se trata de relaciones?
"En realidad lo soy! Tuve algunos amores a primera vista en el pasado también y no es como que tengo algo específicamente que quiero ver en una chica. La única cosa que tienen en común es que son chicas con bonitos ojos y una bonita sonrisa. Soy más como que salimos nos conocemos y luego encanjan nuestras personalidades entre sí. Creo que ese es mi patrón.
Poco a poco, con sus propias palabras es sorprendente cuanto el Japones de Changmin ha mejorado en estos 5 años.
"Cada vez que lanzamos un álbum dig la palabra "crecimeinto" todo el tiempo *ríe* pero este Best Album es realmente algo donde puedes sentir nuestro crecimiento. Y alrededor de todas las canciones del debut puedes escucharnos tratando duro de cantar en Japones!”.

When he debuted in Japan he was still an innocent 17 year old and now hes already 22.
He’s tall and slim who matches black formal outfit.
“I like outfits like this that makes me look slender/slim. What i look for in fashion is the style more than the color. I try to choose something that’s simple yet stylish.”
In his private life he said hes got his license and now his hobby is to go on a drive.
“I want to go on a drive date once. Usually I can’t show my feelings but inside a car I can relax so I think I can express myself better. There are so many places I want to take my girlfriend to! I really want to go to a theme park (amusement park) and have fun! *laughs*
- Even though your the youngest out of the member theres an image of you where your calm and cool. Are you passionate when it comes to relationships?
“Actually I am! I’ve had a few love at first sights in the past too and it’s not like I have anything specifically that I want in a girls looks . The only thing they have in common are girls with pretty eyes and a pretty smile. I’m more like as we date we get to know each other and then match our personalities to each other. I think that’s my pattern.
Slowly with his own words its surprising how much Changmin’s Japanese got better in this 5 years.
“Every time we release an album I said the word “growth” all the time *laughs* but this best album is really something you can feel our growth. And around the debut songs you can listen to us trying hard to sing in Japanese!”.
