Un álbum que revela todo un nuevo lado de él como cantante.
Bajo el nombre de XIAH junsu, avanza hacia un nuevo escenario. Como un cantante quien está continuamente progresando, su solo album [XIH] contiene no solo un sensual R&B, tipo de música, sino también una bala sentimental y madura, la cual el sobresale.
“No soy más el Junsu de antes, y al nombrar mi debut con mi solo album como [XIAH], deseo dejar que todos vean mi nueva cara como cantante. A pesar que estuve envuelto en la producción de este álbum, lo que me hizo más feliz fue aún ser capaz de pararme en un escenario y cantar. Por ejemplo, la adición de una canción bailable esta vez fue producida bajo la fuerte realización de querer performar en un escenario. Realmente no puedo esperar para performar en frente de todos.”

“Someone who can take care of others. Not just towards women, I’ve always wished to be someone who can take be attentive and take care of anyone around me.”
“I’ve never had the experience of liking a woman based on her external appearance. In terms of looks, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. In terms of internal beauty, I prefer those who will devote themselves entirely be it in their work or in their hobbies and interests, and who will keep on working hard no matter what. A woman who can work hard towards a certain direction or goal no matter how insignificant or small it is is very charming. When it comes to Japanese women, I feel they are very fresh and bright, and I think it is because they are very meticulous towards the things that they want to do. No matter what age they are, in terms of make-up or fashion, they would always give their best to dress up and look cuter; if they have a singer whom they like, they would attend the concert and things like that, but in Korea, they put more emphasis on the compatibility in age. Junsu is termed as Asia’s “Wonder Kid” due to his outstanding stage presence, and his ability to capture the hearts of countless fans with his laughing gags. During the interview, he answered in Japanese very seriously, and sometimes he would go off into a daze in an innocent and adorable manner. A pesar que "Intoxication" es una pieza que yo mismo compuse, habia querido tratar de combinar musica oscura y RnB para hacer una canción bailable. Este es mi primero solo single en Japón, asi que usé una estilo de música que me gustó mucho. Creo que es una canción simple pero sensual y con estilo. "Kanashimi no Yukue" es como el título lo dice, usé mi propia tristeza para expresar la canción. Es como... saben que cuando los chicos tienen momentos en que estan debiles, lo muestran cierto? Es como que quería expresar eso sin rodeos ...

Lo más importante acerca de las actividades grupales es el balance. Pero con las actividades en solitario, con una persona, tienes que mantener la atención, o de lo contrario no funcionará. Es por eso que ser poderoso y dinámico es un deber. Los puntos donde tengo que poner mi poder es muy diferente, y aún no estoy muy acostumbrado a ello.

Tiempos de Infancia:
Por que siempre estaba con mi gemelo, Junho, siempre le jugabamos bromas a la gente. Si habia una chica que nos gustaba, derrepente la asustabamos asi que ella voltea a vernos. Ahora que recuerdo eso, me pregunto porqué hacía esas cosas, me arrepiento un poco (ríe).
Tiempos de la Escuela primaria:
Basicamente era todo fútbol! Recientemente, a veces leo de nuevo los diarios que escribí en ese entonces, y el 80% de ello era acerca de fútbol. Dormir, ir a la escuela, jugar fútbol; era solo estas tres cosas (sonrisa forzada).
Tiempo de la Escuela Secundaria:Comencé a ser un aprendiz cuando tenia 12, y ya era un estudiante de secundaria, pensando solo en cantar. Despues que naturalmente era práctica de baile. Yo en ese entonces, trabajaba realmente duro para ser un artista.
Despues de Debut:Por que fue tan difícil, practicamente no hubo tiempo para mí. Pero durante los descansos ocasionales, a veces quería dormir, o ver una película; este tipo de cosas. Si de repente había un espacio, no sabía que debía hacer.
Receintemente:Recientemente he estado ocupado componiendo. Cuando hago un canción bailable, solo la bailo también. Por que estoy solo, así que no tengo que preocuparme que otros me miren (ríe). Al final, si no escuchas la canción y solo la bailas, no funcionará.

He estado cantando baladas por un largo tiempo, y la iamgen de mí como un cantante de baladas estan grabadas muy profundamente (en la mente de la audiencia). Desde que estaba yendo a actuar como artista en solitario, estaba determinado a tratar algo que fuera diferente del cual estaba acostumbrado en el pasado.
Estuviste envuelto en dos de las composiciones de la melodia y la letra. Cuales son tus pensamientos y sentimientos acerca de eso?
Cuando comparti mis intenciones de querer probar (composicion) con gente alrededor mio, hubo un renovado vigor (en mi). Componer es algo realmente muy alegre (risas).
Debes haber realmente disfrutado en el proceso de produccion.
Cuando escuche la cancion por primera vez, una imagen de como luciria en el escenario vino a mi mente asi que realmente disfrute el proceso de grabacion. cuando cantas en grupo, tienes que tomar nota del balance entre los miembros. Sin embargo, como soy la unica persona cantando ahora, tengo que prestar atencion de las expresiones de los diferentes tonos y tomar nota si tengo una exitosamente interpreto la vivacidad de la canción.
Cuando estas cantando solo, te encontraste con mas barreras?
Como lo dije... en comparacion a armonizar, necesitas una diferente cantidad de concentracion y energia. Sin embargo, basado en la grabacion hasta ahora, utilizare el conocimiento acumulado de la experiencias pasadas, y a lo largo con la mentalidad que esta cancion es muy importante, tratar de intentar un avance.
-Nos gustara preguntarte algunas preguntas acerca de la letra... Mr. H.U.B. estaba a cargo de dar con las canciones, y dentro de la cancion, un fundamentan significado de "Excitacion"
y "desenfreno" existe, asi que habia un tipo de lujurioso sentimiento en el contenido en la letra... (intencionalmente) esto es... tu puedes tambien contarlo como parte de mi sugerencia!? (risas)
(para afirmar) asi que es realmente tan! (risas)Realmente es... (risas). Aparecion muchas veces, por ejemplo, "Touch me baby" y palabras como esa (que hacen alusion al sexo). Pero esto es aun musica R&B, asi que usamos letras que complementaran con el sentimiento sexual de la cancion.
Habran incluso mas palabras contundentes cuando oficialmente se actue en el escenario. Ya estamos muy indulgentes.

Aunque no estaba unicamente yo ahora, creo que sera mucho mas dificil si hubiera echo la letra yo.
(explotan en risas juntos) hombres quienes estan profundamente enamorados realmente genial. Cual crees que deberia ser la imagen de un hombre maduro?
Lo he mencionado antes es el tipo que llevara un corazon para los otros.
comparado con uno conñ carisma y autoridad, deberia esos tipos quienes pueden naturalmente tratar a otros con cariño. y tratar alas mujeres con suavidad y proporcionar amor.
Que hay acerca de todas esas tacticas para probar los sentimientos por otros?siento que no deberia ser una necesidad para eso. si tu realmente amas esa persona, al punto que tu estas dispuesto acabar con tu orgullo, luego deberias ser capaz de enfretarse sincera y honestamente. cuando vienen las tacticas... bueno, esto no es juego de niños.

cuando comence por primera vez, estaba acostumbrado a tener ese tipo de sentimientos, pero mirando atras ahora, no lo haria, en lugar pensaria por que no le prete mas atencion. no quiero tener arrepentimientos sobre tales temas. ser capaz de revelar los verdaderos sentimientos de uno a otra pesona seria la mejor cosa para el uno al otro.
Que hay acerca de entrar en [Kanashimi no Yukue]?ser capaz de decir algo como "la felicidad para mi, comparada a un final, un cambio causaria mas soledad", separarse de alguien a quien atesoras mucho es muy doloroso.
tales sentimientos fueron expresados muy bien a traves de tu voz.
si tu escuchas desde el comienzo hasta el fin, te daras cuenta que no esta totalmente armonizado.
cuando estas dentro de la cancion, francamente hablando, solo quieres cantarla tal como sera directamente expresan los verdaderos sentimientos en toda la cancion.
Uno puede experimentar la belleza del piano a lo largo con la melodia.
Estoy muy feliz acerca de esta parte tambien.
escogi esta cancion fuera de las muchas que he escuchado por que cuando cantas una balada solo, siempre hay un sentimiento de soledad. tambien, esta imagen es muy similar a la mia.
Aproposito, si fueras capturado dentro de las emociones causadas por la expresion de tales canciones, como lidias con eso?
Eso pasa mayormente cuando esty escuchando la musica, pero trato de pensar mas positivamente. Estoy seguro la mayoria de nosotras hubieramos experimentdo tales momentos cuando somos capturados con tales emociones...pero probablemente lo ocultaria.
Si bien lo oculte, hubieron momentos donde ocasionalmente fui descubierto. (risas)
Cualquier ser humano tendria tales momentos. (risas) asi, has titulado esas palabras completas como [XIAH].Si. puedes decir que eso (work) soy yo. es un trabajo que espero todos se sientan atraidos para escuchar. Para usar my propio nombre titulado en este album de echo es bastante nervioso, pero este es uno de mi mas seguros trabajo hasta ahora.
He dado un montón de ideas y sugerencias para la sesión fotográfica de la portada hasta el final a la realización del video musical de [Intoxication].
Como lo puse, nunca pense que sera capaz de hacer algo como esto asi que estoy muy feliz.

Aunque los tonos y tecnicas usadas en el canto de una cancion son importantes, lo que espero que los oyentes aprecien mas aun las emociones.[Intoxication] es una cancion que es sentimental y lirico y realmente queria expresar bien la cancion, asi que me puse dentro de esa personalidad y acostumbre my voz para interpretarla. estaba acostumbrado a imitar frescamente cantantes debutantes de quienes me gustaba, y aprendi que una vez que has aprendid a manegar diferentes partes de una cancion, la cancion tomara naturalmente tu estilo personal. si pruebas imitar a otro cantante mientras cantas, si se le da demasiado énfasis en su voz debido a la mala administración de la canción, es porque no ha sido capaz de expresar con éxito las verdaderas emociones de la canción también.

Yes. Even though it was quite tough handling both the musical [“Mozart!”] and the production of the single at the same time early this year, I was also very happy doing it.
-[Intoxication] is really a dance track that leaves people with a deep impression.
I have been singing ballads for a long time now, and the image of me as a ballad singer is etched very deeply [in the minds of the audience]. Since I was going to perform as a solo artiste, I was determined to try something that was different from what I used to do in the past.
-You were involved in both the composition of the melody and the lyrics. What are your thoughts and feelings about that?
When I shared my intentions of wanting to try [composition] with the people around me, there was a renewed vigor [in me]. Composing is really something very joyful (laughs).
-You must have really enjoyed yourself in the production process.
When I first heard the song, an image of how it would look like on stage came to my mind so I really enjoyed the recording process. When you sing in a group, you have to take note of the balance amongst the other members. However, as I am the only person singing this time, I have to pay attention to the expressions of the different tones and take note if I have successfully interpreted the liveliness of the song.
-When you are singing alone, do you meet up with more barriers?
How do I say it… In comparison to harmonizing, you need a different amount of focus and energy. However, based on the recording so far, I would use the knowledge accumulated from past experiences, and along with the mindset that this song is very important, to try and attempt a breakthrough.
-We would like to ask some questions relating to the lyrics…Mr. H.U.B was in charge of coming up with lyrics, and within the song, an underlying meaning of “excitement” and “indulgence” existed, so there was a kind of lustful feel in the content in the lyrics…
(Intentionally) This is…you can also count as part of my suggestion!? (laughs)
-(To affirm) So, it’s really so! (laughs)
It really is…(laughs). It appeared a lot of times, for example, “Touch me baby” and words like that (that hint at sex). But this is still R&B music, so we used lyrics that complemented the sexual feel of the song.

I feel there should not be a need for that. If you really love that person, to the point that you are willing to do away with your pride, then you should be able to face each other sincerely and honestly. When it comes to tactics…well, this is not child’s play.

When I first started, I used to have those kind of feelings, but looking back now, I wouldn’t do it. Instead I would think of why I didn’t pay more attention to her. Yes. You can say this that [work] is me. It is a work that I hope everyone will be attracted to listen to. To use my own name to title this album is indeed quite nerve-wrecking, but this is one of my most confident works thus far.
I have given a lot of thoughts and suggestions towards the photo shoot of the album cover all the way to the making of the music video of [Intoxication].
How do I put it, I have never thought that I would be able to do something like this so I’m very happy.

[Intoxication] is a song that is sentimental and lyrical and I really wanted to express the song well, so I placed myself within that personality and used my voice to interpret it. I used to imitate freshly debuted singers whom I like, and I learnt that once you have learnt to manage the different parts of a song, the song will naturally take on your personal style. If you try to imitate another singer while singing, or if you give unduly stress on your vocals due to ill management of the song, that is because you have not been able to successfully express the true emotions of the song well.

Junsu was really nervous about releasing a single in his own name. Even so, he has overcome that nerve to complete this work confidently.
-The solo track has been completed already, right?
Yes. Even though it was quite tough handling both the musical [“Mozart!”] and the production of the single at the same time early this year, I was also very happy doing it.
-[Intoxication] is really a dance track that leaves people with a deep impression.
I have been singing ballads for a long time now, and the image of me as a ballad singer is etched very deeply [in the minds of the audience]. Since I was going to perform as a solo artiste, I was determined to try something that was different from what I used to do in the past.
-You were involved in both the composition of the melody and the lyrics. What are your thoughts and feelings about that?
When I shared my intentions of wanting to try [composition] with the people around me, there was a renewed vigor [in me]. Composing is really something very joyful (laughs).
-You must have really enjoyed yourself in the production process.
When I first heard the song, an image of how it would look like on stage came to my mind so I really enjoyed the recording process. When you sing in a group, you have to take note of the balance amongst the other members. However, as I am the only person singing this time, I have to pay attention to the expressions of the different tones and take note if I have successfully interpreted the liveliness of the song.
-When you are singing alone, do you meet up with more barriers?
How do I say it… In comparison to harmonizing, you need a different amount of focus and energy. However, based on the recording so far, I would use the knowledge accumulated from past experiences, and along with the mindset that this song is very important, to try and attempt a breakthrough.
-We would like to ask some questions relating to the lyrics…Mr. H.U.B was in charge of coming up with lyrics, and within the song, an underlying meaning of “excitement” and “indulgence” existed, so there was a kind of lustful feel in the content in the lyrics…
(Intentionally) This is…you can also count as part of my suggestion!? (laughs)
-(To affirm) So, it’s really so! (laughs)
It really is…(laughs). It appeared a lot of times, for example, “Touch me baby” and words like that (that hint at sex). But this is still R&B music, so we used lyrics that complemented the sexual feel of the song.
-There will be even more blunt words when you officially perform it on stage. We are already quite lenient.
Yes! Yes! It will get worse! (laughs)
Even though it wasn’t solely me this time, I think it will be much harder if I were to come up with the lyrics myself.

P:Aunque esta es la primera vez entrevistandote como XIAH Junsu, viendo la filmacion, la cancion " Intoxication" en tu single en solitario "XIAH" tiene una atmósfera muy sexy a traves de ella, incluyendo la muy madura voz y melodía agregada.R: (timido) gracias, ya la has escuchado?
P: Lo he escuchado, era muy sexy fue realmente sorprendente! compusiste la cancion por ti mismo-- cuando comenzaste a surgir con esa imagen?
R: esta cancion fue consevida cuando aun estaba en corea haciendo musica. Pude usar el nombre XIAH para grabar esta cancion y tratar este tipo de genero de cancion. Siempre he querido crear una cancion incluyendo elementos afroamericanos R&B, tambien como algo que pudiera bailar mientras canto. Alli han habido mucho J-Pop y otros generos de canciones apareciendo en la escena de la musica japonesa, asi que me pregunte si podria hacer esta cancion, una genial y completamente diferente comparado a otros.
P:Esta es una cancion de amor muy sexy-- tienes algunos requisitos especificos para la letra?R:Espero que la letra pueda traer un sentimiento muy sensual. Al principio, hubieron frases que ni fueron japones ni ingles que fueron agregados dentro de la cancion cuando lo cante de prueba. La parte "touch me baby" en el coro vino naturalente mientras estaba cantando, y senti que parecia mas y mas interesante mientra lo cantaba (risas). Con el fin para que esa sensacion venga "VIVO",le rogue al letrista que agregue "touch me baby" dentro de la cancion. asi, el letrista Mr. H.U.B. escribio esta canción para mi.
P: La letra de la cancion se acerca a la imagen que querias?R: si, queria que el ritmo y la melodia se entrelacen con las letra japonesa para expresar un unico sentimiento. Como la parte "Empieza desde nuestros dedos, de la cabeza al dedo el pie, ve a encontrar tu secreto cariño", las dos consonantes que terminan fueron repetidas. Estoy muy satisfecho con los resultados.
P: La tecnica del susurrar al cantar es tambien muy buena. a que parte de la cancion crees que las fans prestaran atencion?R: esta cancion es cantada como una cancion pop. Creo que el ritmo es muy animado, asi que es muy importante cuando tu cantas esta cancion, bien o mal. Hay muchos tonos bajos agrgtados asi que siento que es una cancion muy adecuada para actuar en el escenario.
P: Incluso la respiracion en la cancion transmite ese sentimento de hacer el amor verdad?
R: talvez lo que oiste fue los sonidos preliminares antes de la mezcla de herramientas combinadas con los tonos. Creo que la cancion completa suena mucho mejor.
P:que? un mayor nivel de bochorno?R: Ah, no asi (risas). Solo quiero un gran ambiente general y balance de los sonidos.
P: esta cancion parace mas un desafio comparado con tus otras canciones?
R: esta es mi primera vez probando un genero como R&B, aunque en "Xiahtic", hay una intensa melodia, que fue aun considerada mas como una cancion bailable. Esta vez, quiero cantar una cancion que combine los dos, canto y baile.
P: Estoy curioso a como las fans van a reaccionar a la cancion-- que crees?R:(timidamente) Dare lo mejor (risas)
P:creo que mientras el titulo de la cancion "Intoxication" da la sensacion de estar extasiado en un sueño, es tu voz que memoriza los oyentes.R:es asi? (avergonzado)
P: te sentiste avergonzado cuando grabaste la cancion?R:No en lo absoluto. no se como habria sido si alli hubieran estado chicas presentes en ese momento, desde que en el PV solo habian chicos, no me senti incomodo (risas)
P: cuando grabaste el PV, tambien utilizaste un traje negro como el que estas usando ahora, entrando dentro de la imagen de un mundo negro para grabar esta cancion?
R: durante la grabacion de esta cancion, me pregunte acerca de cosas como, "Es esta ropa compatible?" por que la atmosfera de la cancion es sexy en lugar de lujosa, utilice una chaqueta negra con una sudadera y un pantalon sarouel debajo. el baile y los pantalones realmente quedaban el uno con el otro.
P: sera el baile presentado en el PV?R: si, el punto mas importante en el PV es mostrar una excelente coreografia.
P: habra algunas chicas apareciendo en el PV?
R:No, todos son chicos(risas).
P: Ya veo, la segunda cancion de este single, "kanashimi no yukue", realmente quedaba con tu voz ronca por la narracion de la triste balada. El poderoso canto y la conflictiva interpretacion del coro realmente me hizo sentir como si mi corazon fuese hermeticamente incauto.R: Puedes decir que "Intoxication" es una cancion que expresa la aparienca externa de un hombre, mientras "Kanashimi no yukue" muestra lo mas intimo y profundo de su ser, una cancion que verdaderamente muestra la debilidad que un hombre trata de ocultar desesperadamente.
P: asi que la cancion tambien puede ser considerado como otro tipo de madurez adulta?R: si, hay diferentes sentimentos en las dos canciones verdad? espero que todos puedan escuchar y verse asi mismos. Mi parte favorita de la cancion es "poniendo fin a la felicidad, a cambio, está mi dolor sin fin". Cuando por primera vez lei la letra, realmente pense en esto tambien, aunque diferentes personas puedan tener diferentes sentimientos hacia eso cuando lo escuchen, su humor probablemente cambiara. Por ejemplo en realidad no te paso personalmente, pero cuando escuchas personas hablando acerda de ello, tambien tendra resonancia a lo que dicen, ser capaz de sentir ese tipo de dolor. terminando... como el corazon de la persona no esta contigo nunca mas, la situacion llamada para ti cambiaria y se iria verdad?
pero en realidad es mejor este camino, comparado a terminar, creo que aceptando "ya ha cambiado" es esencialmente mucho mas dificil. Creo que las letras de esta cancion esta tratando de expresar el punto de estar enamorado es felicidad. Desde el fondo de mi corazon, creo que es realmente maravilloso!.
P:por favor dinos la razón por que "XIAH" fue usado como el título del single.
R: Hubieron cosas que quería que las personas vieran y cosas que estaban sepultadas profundamente en mi corazón que fueron expresadas completamente en este single solo. Quiero que las personas vean un diferente "Xiah", asi que por supuesto tuvo que ser nombrado así. ahora mismo, los fans japoneses han visto a "Junsu", asi que espero que en el futuro, todos puedan ver el lado "Xiah" de mí.
P: Es como saliendo un marca de una nueva etapa! Qué atributos crees que un hombre sexy debe poseer?

A: This song was conceived when I was still in Korea making music. I was able to use the name "XIAH" to record this song and try this type of song genre. I've always wanted to create a song that includes elements of African-American R＆B, as well as something that I was able to dance to while singing. There have been many J-POP and other genres of songs appearing in the Japanese music scene, so I wondered if I could make this song a great and completely different one compared to others.
Q: This is a very sexy love song-- do you have any specific requirements for the lyrics?
A: I hope that the lyrics can bring out a very sensual feeling. At first, there were phrases that were neither Japanese nor English that were added into the song when I test sung it. The "touch me baby" part in the chorus just naturally came out while I was singing, and I felt it seemed more and more interesting as I sang on (laughs). So in order for the feeling of that part to come 'alive', I pleaded the lyricist to add "touch me baby" into the the song. Just like that, lyricist Mr. H.U.B wrote out this song for me.
Q: Are the lyrics of the song close to the image you wanted?
A: Yes, I wanted the rhythm and melody to intertwine with the Japanese lyrics to express a unique feeling to it. Like the part "start from our fingers, from head to toe, going to find your secret honey", the two ending consonants were repeated. I am very satisfied with the results.
Q: The whispering-singing technique is also very good. What area of the song do you think fans will pay close attention to?
A: This song is sung as a pop song. I think the rhythm is very animated, so it is very important how you sing the song, good or bad. There were many low tones added in so I feel that it is a very suitable song to perform on-stage.
Q: Even the breathing in the song transmits the feeling of love-making right?
A: Maybe what you heard were the preliminary sounds before the mixing tool combined the tones. I think the completed song sounds much more better.
Q: What? A higher level of sultriness?
A: Ah, not like that (laughs). I just want a great overall atmosphere and balance of the sounds.
Q: Does this song seem like more of a challenge compared to your songs before?
A: This is my first time trying out a genre like R&B. Although in "Xiahtic", there was an intense tune, it was still considered as more of a dance song. This time, I want a song that combines both singing and dancing.
Q: I am curious as to how the fans will react to this song-- what do you think?
A: (Shyly) I will try my best (laughs).
Q: I think that while the song title "Intoxication" gives you a sense of being enraptured in a dream, it is your voice that memorizes the listeners.
A: Is that so? (embarrassed)
Q: Did you feel embarrassed when you were recording the song?
A: Not at all. I don't know how it would have been if there were females present at the time, but since the PV only had males, I didn't feel uncomfortable (laughs).
Q: When you shot the PV, did you also wear a black suit like you are wearing now, entering into a black-imaged world to shoot the song?
A: During the making of this song, I wondered about things like, "are these clothes compatible?" Because the song's atmosphere is sexy rather than luxurious, I wore a blazer with a tank top and sarouel pants underneath. The dance and pants really suited each other.
Q: Will the dance be presented in the PV?
A: Yes, the most important point of the PV is to show the excellent choreography.
Q: Will there be any females appearing in the PV?
A: No, it's all male (laughs).
Q: I see. The second song in this single, "Kanashimi no Yukue", really suited your husky voice because of the sorrowful narratives of the ballad. The powerful singing and the conflicting interpretation of the chorus really made me feel as if my heart was being tightly seized.
A: You can say that "Intoxication" is a song that expresses a man's outer appearances, while "Kanashimi no Yukue" shows a man's innermost depths of his heart, a song that truthfully displays the weakness a man desperately tries to hide.
Q: So this song can also be considered as another type of adult maturity?
A: Yes, there are different feelings to the two songs right? I hope everyone can listen to see for themselves. My favorite part of the song is "Ending happiness, in return is my endless sorrow". When I first read the lyrics, I really thought like this too. Although different people will have different feelings towards this when listening to it, their mood will probably still change. For example, it didn't actually happen to you personally, but when you hear other people talking about it, you will also have a resonance to what it being said, being able to feeling that type of pain. Ending... just like the person's heart isn't with you anymore, the situation would call for you to turn around and leave right? But it is actually better this way. Compared to ending, I think accepting "it's already changed" is essentially much more difficult. I believe that the lyrics to this song is trying to express the point that being in love is happiness. From the bottom of my heart, I really think it's wonderful!
Q: Please tell us the reason as to why "XIAH" was used as the title of this single.
A: There were things that I wanted people to see and things that were deeply buried in my heart that were fully expressed in this solo single. I want people to see a different "Xiah", so of course it had to be named that. Right now, the Japanese fans have seen "Junsu", so I hope in the future, everyone can see the "Xiah" side of me.
Q: It's like stepping out a brand new step! What attributes do you think a sexy man must posses?
A: (Thinking) Requirements of sexy man?
Q: Are there any men around you that you think are sexy?
A: Because I'm a man myself, I don't really think whether a man is sexy or not. (Puzzled) It's kind of hard to answer...
Q: Then lets change a question. In the lyrics of "Kanashimi no Yukue", there's a phrase "don't cry". Have you ever been stumped as to what to do when being faced with a girl in tears?
A: (Immediately) I really am not an expert in that.
Q: What if a girl cries in front of you?
A: I would be at a complete loss (laughs).
Q: Is it that you wouldn't know what the best thing to do would be?
A: It's that I can't stand it (laughs).
Q: "What happened?", would you ask her that?
A: I would say, "what's wrong?"
Q: Indeed, that's a very gentle way.
A: Yes, it is (laughs).
Q: Do you cry too?
A: I won't in front of women. If I did, it would either be by myself or in front of my older brother.
Q: So it's like that. Speaking of that, what type of person do you think a mature man should be?
A: In short, a person with a caring heart for others.

A: This song was conceived when I was still in Korea making music. I was able to use the name "XIAH" to record this song and try this type of song genre. I've always wanted to create a song that includes elements of African-American R＆B, as well as something that I was able to dance to while singing. There have been many J-POP and other genres of songs appearing in the Japanese music scene, so I wondered if I could make this song a great and completely different one compared to others.
Q: This is a very sexy love song-- do you have any specific requirements for the lyrics?
A: I hope that the lyrics can bring out a very sensual feeling. At first, there were phrases that were neither Japanese nor English that were added into the song when I test sung it. The "touch me baby" part in the chorus just naturally came out while I was singing, and I felt it seemed more and more interesting as I sang on (laughs). So in order for the feeling of that part to come 'alive', I pleaded the lyricist to add "touch me baby" into the the song. Just like that, lyricist Mr. H.U.B wrote out this song for me.
Q: Are the lyrics of the song close to the image you wanted?
A: Yes, I wanted the rhythm and melody to intertwine with the Japanese lyrics to express a unique feeling to it. Like the part "start from our fingers, from head to toe, going to find your secret honey", the two ending consonants were repeated. I am very satisfied with the results.
Q: The whispering-singing technique is also very good. What area of the song do you think fans will pay close attention to?
A: This song is sung as a pop song. I think the rhythm is very animated, so it is very important how you sing the song, good or bad. There were many low tones added in so I feel that it is a very suitable song to perform on-stage.
Q: Even the breathing in the song transmits the feeling of love-making right?
A: Maybe what you heard were the preliminary sounds before the mixing tool combined the tones. I think the completed song sounds much more better.

A: Ah, not like that (laughs). I just want a great overall atmosphere and balance of the sounds.
Q: Does this song seem like more of a challenge compared to your songs before?
A: This is my first time trying out a genre like R&B. Although in "Xiahtic", there was an intense tune, it was still considered as more of a dance song. This time, I want a song that combines both singing and dancing.
Q: I am curious as to how the fans will react to this song-- what do you think?
A: (Shyly) I will try my best (laughs).
Q: I think that while the song title "Intoxication" gives you a sense of being enraptured in a dream, it is your voice that memorizes the listeners.
A: Is that so? (embarrassed)
Q: Did you feel embarrassed when you were recording the song?
A: Not at all. I don't know how it would have been if there were females present at the time, but since the PV only had males, I didn't feel uncomfortable (laughs).
Q: When you shot the PV, did you also wear a black suit like you are wearing now, entering into a black-imaged world to shoot the song?
A: During the making of this song, I wondered about things like, "are these clothes compatible?" Because the song's atmosphere is sexy rather than luxurious, I wore a blazer with a tank top and sarouel pants underneath. The dance and pants really suited each other.
Q: Will the dance be presented in the PV?
A: Yes, the most important point of the PV is to show the excellent choreography.
Q: Will there be any females appearing in the PV?
A: No, it's all male (laughs).
Q: I see. The second song in this single, "Kanashimi no Yukue", really suited your husky voice because of the sorrowful narratives of the ballad. The powerful singing and the conflicting interpretation of the chorus really made me feel as if my heart was being tightly seized.
A: You can say that "Intoxication" is a song that expresses a man's outer appearances, while "Kanashimi no Yukue" shows a man's innermost depths of his heart, a song that truthfully displays the weakness a man desperately tries to hide.
Q: So this song can also be considered as another type of adult maturity?
A: Yes, there are different feelings to the two songs right? I hope everyone can listen to see for themselves. My favorite part of the song is "Ending happiness, in return is my endless sorrow". When I first read the lyrics, I really thought like this too. Although different people will have different feelings towards this when listening to it, their mood will probably still change. For example, it didn't actually happen to you personally, but when you hear other people talking about it, you will also have a resonance to what it being said, being able to feeling that type of pain. Ending... just like the person's heart isn't with you anymore, the situation would call for you to turn around and leave right? But it is actually better this way. Compared to ending, I think accepting "it's already changed" is essentially much more difficult. I believe that the lyrics to this song is trying to express the point that being in love is happiness. From the bottom of my heart, I really think it's wonderful!
Q: Please tell us the reason as to why "XIAH" was used as the title of this single.
A: There were things that I wanted people to see and things that were deeply buried in my heart that were fully expressed in this solo single. I want people to see a different "Xiah", so of course it had to be named that. Right now, the Japanese fans have seen "Junsu", so I hope in the future, everyone can see the "Xiah" side of me.
Q: It's like stepping out a brand new step! What attributes do you think a sexy man must posses?
A: (Thinking) Requirements of sexy man?
Q: Are there any men around you that you think are sexy?
A: Because I'm a man myself, I don't really think whether a man is sexy or not. (Puzzled) It's kind of hard to answer...

Q: Is it that you wouldn't know what the best thing to do would be?
A: It's that I can't stand it (laughs).

A: I would say, "what's wrong?"
